Marcie and Lexie were walking home when Will and Mason
passed by. The two boys seem to know they would come this way. Everyone stared
at each other till the boys disappeared around the corner. Weak in the knees,
the two girls couldn’t believe that the two cutest boys in the eleventh grade
actually looked at them. Lexie looked down and noticed a little folded piece of
paper. She picked it up. Unfolding the white scrap, only to find out it’s not
just a scrap. “What’s it say, what’s it say” exclaimed Marcie.
“It says and I
quote, you girls have to meet us at the street theater in Town Square at about
6:00. We have a surprise for you.
-W&M”.
They rushed home. The two girls prettied themselves up and
ran out the door. By the time they got to town square it was 6:00. At the
street theater there was a weird metal structure on the wall. On the roof stood
the two boys. Half smiles stretched across their faces. Curiosity filled the
girls minds. Mason kicked at something that was too hard to see. Suddenly
bright, BRIGHT, lights that made the night glow. Yet the sight still sent tears to the surface
of the girls’ eyes.
Prom.
Lexie pulled out her phone and took the best picture of her
life. Megan noticed another note on the ground. It had a phone number she had
it on speaker as it rang. One of the boys answered. “YES” they shouted through
the phone.
THE END.
